Online Dating UK

Take the easy way in or the easy way out, sign up to online dating uk to set the pulse racing without online dating ukhaving to leave the safety of your own home. Although this may be the future for would be daters in reality it was ever thus, you still have to meet these people, you can run but you can’t hide. This interface merely heightens the tension, raises the expectations to unbearable levels, so many faces to choose from, so many who appear to fit the bill, so many, so what are you waiting for?

Like others who enjoy trawling the web, I enjoy the randomness, the immediacy of everything, the apparent availability of goods and services once out of reach, or so it seemed. The online dating uk facility is all of these things plus it has girls looking for guys, does anyone still call men guys apart from Freddy in Scooby Doo? Of course it has the obligatory men looking for women section, heavily over subscribed I would guess, along with same on same sex, so most bases covered. Anyway, it’s got to be a winner, what with all of these women looking for men and all.

online dating ukSo while it seems so far so easy, the online dating uk presumes that once a punter has thumbed through the pages of photo’s and alluring text they will make the leap, the dreaded leap which involves the great unmasking and any exaggerations or worse, frauds will be cruelly exposed.

Customer Source | Where do they come from

Do you know your customer source, sure you get 100 people a day visiting your site, customer source, auto responderbut where do they come from. Was it that email you sent out last week to your customer database that hasn’t been updated in years. Or maybe it was one of your sales guys who told them to call you up, it could even have been a contact form sent in from your web site if you have one.

One thing is for sure, if you don’t know your customer source you will never be able to predict how many will turn up or when. What is worse is that you will have to continue with all the aspects of your marketing strategy because you won’t know which part of your budget is doing the job of getting them there.

So how do you provide excellent customer service?

Make sure you don’t forget about your customers, you don’t want a single sale its much better to make a one time customer into a repeat customer. In order to do this they should be added to a a database then follow up with each lead individually, multiple times, but at set intervals, utilising a  pre-written set of messages. This will show your customers that you care enough to contact them and dramatically increase your product sales.

Many people work hard on making their first sale but ignore the customer source, they just go after the next single sale. When you build a customer database and keep in touch you have the opportunity for repeat sales to your "list" of leads. People who start using this approach have noticed a dramatic increase sales. As much as doubling the number of products they are selling over a given period of time. If you really want those extra sales you can find out more here.

There is no rush mind you, after all you will need to learn how to use the system, but how will you use it? Initially, you will need to create a series of follow up messages, after all there is nothing more embarrassing than having a huge list who you only send a single message to. If your in the fortunate position of having been marketing on line for any length of time, then you should already have a first contact letter which you can use to get started.

The second message is the start  of the process whereby you keep in contact with your customers, this letter should go into more detail than the first one. You should consider about filling this communication with information you didn’t have the space to include the first time round. Emphasise how your customer will benefit from your products or services. As you gain more experience you can also customise the letters so that they are relevant to the customer source.

Your subsequent two or three emails should be brief and to the point, including lists of the uses and potential benefits your customers will see from using your products or  services. Be careful to write each message such that your potential customers can scan quickly through, and notice the salient points emphasised to ensure they don’t miss anything.

After getting into your customers mind its now time to start selling the next messages should create a sense of urgency, a limited special offer that they have to take up now or lose it for all time. You should give him or her a clear reason to order immediately rather than waiting. When they have read these emails, your potential customer should want to place an order straight away.

If you are unfortunate enough not to get an order when you have followed up with all the messages you have created don’t despair. It may just be bad timing, you can then consider a repeating email message that is sent every 3 months or so to keep your products and services in the mind of your potential customer.

Think about the customer source and place them into a list so that you can identify them appropriately, use extra comments to make it even easier. Then when you have something to offer that you think they will like send them a one off email blast.

The spacing of your follow up messages is just as important as their content. Think about what you would expect if you signed up for information, you don’t want one potential client to receive a follow up the day after he gets your initial informative letter, while another waits weeks for a phone call.

You should make it automatic using an email responder service. I use aweber, partly because they provide excellent customer service, but also because they have a wealth of experience in the business and therefore have designed their service to meet everyone’s needs, including legal compliance. You don’t want your email address banned because of spam so they follow the rules exactly.

customer source, follow upKeeping in touch with customers can seem a little daunting, but it doesn’t have to be, many potential customers are lost because of poor follow up use a professional service and you will be one of the few who get it right first time every time.

Twitter wiki – A brief summary for my friends

Why twitter I am often asked so I’ve decided rather than ramble on to produce a brief twitter wiki for my followers and friends. Many of you think you should but don’t see whytwitter wiki or what benefit it would be to you. Personally I get tremendous benefits from the use of twitter integrated with my Facebook and Myspace accounts, which are updated automatically when I post on twitter.

I didn’t really socialise much with people when I wasn’t actually with them face to face before I started twittering, but now I wouldn’t be without the online community I’m in. I used to use forums to post questions then check back each day to see if anyone had been interested enough to reply. Unfortunately it was rather time consuming and often I didn’t get what I was looking for or maybe it didn’t work.

Now I post a question in twitter using the keyword target followers I attracted using Tweet Later a free twitter tool which helps you manage multiple accounts for business purposes. Often I get a reply back within minutes and a link to a help page someone found and though I might be interested in. Not only on twitter itself I also get comments and help in Facebook and Myspace too.

Anyway back to the twitter wiki what is Twitter all about then, lets start with a little background;

Twitter was founded in March 2006 by Evan Williams, Jack Dorsey, and Biz Stone, he concept I believe primarily emanating from Dorsey’s idea of quick update on what you are doing to all your friends at once. In 2006 Williams and Biz Stone co-founded Obvious Corp along with other former Odeo employees. Twitter was created as a separate company in April 2007 by Obvious Corp. Jack Dorsey was chief executive officer of Twitter until October 2008 when Williams became CEO and Dorsey shifted to the position of chairman of the board.

Today twitter provides the same basic service as every social networking site and virtual community on line today, to connect users, and to provide a hub or common meeting place for its members to communicate on a regular basis. So why not just continue to use the same social sites and forums you have always frequented, there is no reason not to, you don’t have to switch to twitter just use it in any way that suits your particular needs.

Twitter is there to give you and your friends a means to share information and  keep up with what you’re doing in real time now. There are thousands of people online all the time so won’t your messages get lost in all the marketing hype and sales messages, not really since your friends and colleagues can subscribe to receive your updates and you theirs so you can each keep up to date with what’s going on in your daily minute by minute life.

Over the last few years, Twitter has become popular globally, it is the fastest growing free micro-blogging software that facilitates keeping in touch with your social network through quick, frequent answers to one simple question: What are you doing now, what are you thinking about what do you need to know in 140 characters or less?

To "Tweet" is the term used to describe the status updates you post on twitter within the 140 maximum character limit. For individuals tweeting is simple just text or log in and type your updates whenever you fancy saying something out loud to the world, but to be effective in the business situation, it has to be done systematically, at a time when your customers are most likely to read what you have written even if that might be at 2am your time when they are just waking up.

For the most business professionals unfortunately, this level of commitment can be very impractical because of the time required. Fortunately, there are tools which can be used to automate the process allowing you to post your updates 24 hours a day even when you are asleep.

twitter wikiPersonally I find a service called Tweet Later to be the best one which suits me, they recently rebranded as Social Oomph but I still prefer the original name. Its really easy to use, the interface is quite intuitive in its functionality and there is an excellent manual in the help area too. You can try it for free with a seven day trial of the full functionality of the paid version, then it reverts to the simple version more suited in my opinion to the individual user rather than corporate marketing executive or business owner. Click on the Twitter logo and have a look for your self, try it for free today and get yourself new business contacts every day who are interested in working with you.

Thats it for now for the twitter wiki, if you have any comments questions or more to add please leave me a comment I’d love to hear your opinions on the Twitter Revolution. I’ll explain more about the social oomph in another post soon.

How to Cloak Affiliate Links Using 301 Redirect

The easiest way to start making money online is with affiliate programs however many newbies to the scene gain limited income even when they follow the exact methods their upline is advising them to use. This is someimes because people look at the URL they are being forwarded to and “steal the commission”

When you are experienced in the field of affiliate marketing you learn the importance of affiliate links cloaking. Cloaking is used to avoid the issue mentioned above, there could potentially be a significant percentage of your hard earned visitors who intnetionally stop you gaining your commission if you don't use the cloaking. The following simple procedure can address this issue showing you how to cloak affiliate links using 301 redirect to avoid stealing your commission.

Here is an explanation on how your commission can be redirected. When you place the mouse over a link on any web page you will see at the bottom the web site the link is pointing, including your affiliate ID. Experienced users who see link such as  domain.tld/track.php?id=your-affiliate-id can sign up for the affiliate program, then generate their own affiliate link and use their own link before purchasing the product. In this way they are paid the commission rather than you.

You can avoid losing your affiliate commission being stealen you have to cloak your affiliate links. You can achieve this using a 301 redirect in this way the above method cannot be used since they will not see the affiliate link prior to being redirected to yours. This is how the 301 redirect works ;

Initially, rather than using links like domain.tld/track.php?id=your-affiliate-id use your-domain.tld/something.php. you need to create a file example.php, open this file in notepad and paste the following code into the file:

< ?Header( "HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently" ); Header( "Location: http://www.domain.tld/track.php?id=your-affiliate-id" ); ? >

This code will cause that the visitor will be automatically redirected to domain.tld/track.php?id=your-affiliate-id.

It's as simple as that. You can hide multiple links using different file names. Just rename example.php and edit the target URL. Your affiliate links are hidden and people are less likely to steal your affiliate commission.

Good luck with your affiliate programs.

Healthy Eating Pyramid

Making something out of nothing is tricky, but in the hands of the artist it is a challenge to be relished. For instance, take a phrase, any phrase, say ….  ‘healthy eating pyramid’, healthy eating pyramidwhat’s that all about? To some, a random collection of words, but to the creative mind the possibilities are endless.

This particular phrase happens to be the title given to a contemporary art exhibition currently causing some consternation amongst the hipsters and chattering classes, leaving some with full bellies and satisfied smiles while for others the end result is yet another bout of flatulence. The ’healthy eating pyramid’ show runs till October and has much to digest.  Many of Britain’s finest have come to the table to debate, both visually and aurally, the disgraceful state of the nations diet and who is to be blamed for its continued nutritional decline. Who gains, who loses!

healthy eating pyramidBe prepared for tempting appetisers, a few tasty morsels, some full blown lunches and a few proper puddings as Brit artists build and explore the ‘healthy eating pyramid’. The show delivers like a take away and the message is a serious one so put it at the top of your menu.

What is your success quote?

What makes a person successful, is it money, property, a family or something else, what is your road to success, success quotessuccess quote? I find success is an elusive thing that people want but don’t necessarily understand by the term.

"Everyone who got where he is has had to begin where he was."
– Robert Louis Stevenson

Clearly this quote is aimed at those of us who cannot decide where we should start when we are on the road to success, but think about it you are already at the place where you will be starting from. None of us can change where we are here and now, since as soon as we move on, we are already on our way to success. Here’s another success quote to consider;

"A non-doer is very often a critic-that is, someone who sits back and watches doers, and then waxes philosophically about how the doers are doing. It’s easy to be a critic, but being a doer requires effort, risk, and change." Dr. Wayne W. Dyer

This time its about action, getting on and "doing it" after all if you don’t start how can you ever expect to get to where you are going.

While you think about these snippets of information, stop for a minute and think about your own personal success quote while considering the following;

  1. Your success is what success means to you and no one else

  2. Think in terms of you whole life, not simply your career nor health but rather everything

  3. Imagine a future you will be happy with, never limit your potential by being negative

  4. Be yourself, if you see success in the eyes of your neighbour you will never be truely happy

motivation and success, success quotesIf you plan for success in this way you will be reaching for a goal that you actually want to achieve. Remember the old adage "be careful what you ask for, you might just get it". That is really what your success has to be about, now its time to contemplate your own future close your eyes be positive and create your own success quote.

Take the first step to success and be a winner throughout your whole life.

Video Testimonial

What are you going to do to turn a visitor into a customer? With its personal touch, a video testimonial could do just that.

Driving traffic to your website has never been an easy feat. If you’re in the business market, turning traffic into potential customers can be a long and frustrating journey.

A video testimonial is a customer giving their opinion of your service on video. It is more personal than a generic customer review tagged onto the bottom of your website with questionable authenticity.

To make your video you can consult a professional or by doing a simple Google search or, if you prefer, you can do it yourself. If you are choosing the latter, make sure you have the right equipment. Quality is everything when it comes to advertising so invest in a decent video camera or perhaps hire one.

Once you are set up, find out who is willing to participate. To make a good testimonial, the message needs to be sincere, clear and concise.

Now that you have the equipment and your customers, you can begin the testimony itself. Keep it short – a good testimony should be short and sweet, no more than a couple of minutes long. Do a few takes, that way you can find the perfect one later.

Whilst a video testimonial isn’t the be all and end all of successful internet marketing, a clear and sincere message from a happy customer is a good place to start.

Is your website content important?

Website content is the heart of a site, it is made up of the text on the page as well as the images and
videos and of course the structure the web site. The best way to build a relationship with your potential customers is to provide valuable and useful content if you can’t provide value, why would they want to come back.. The way your site looks when viewed is crucial to potential conversions but the nature of your content is essential to get the people there in the first place.

The top methods of getting traffic to your site are advertising such as pay per click and search engine optimisation.

Search engines are competitve in terms of the way a site is ranked, however since they account for over 90% of all traffic we have to join the competition if we want to get a significant amount of traffic. Bearing this in mind, businesses which are interested in gaining a share of the online market have to be committed to achieving top 10 rankings for the keyword phrases which relate to the products and services they are offering.

Many individuals believe the best way to obtain a return on your investment in on line real estate, your website is to take up the services of a company specialising in search engine optimisation. It is true that as a one off this is the best way to get top rankings, however what happens 6 months down the line when they have been to visit your top competitor who paid a little more than you. It is important that you also understand what they are doing, either gaining the knowledge yourself or bringing it into your company so that top rankings can be maintained over time, the alternative of course being to retain the expert services on an ongoing basis.

Personally when I work on a clients web site I don’t recommend optimisation on a one off basis since optimisation over time allows data to be collected relating to site performance and in particular relevant keywords. There are a numerous companies helping website owners get people coming to their site using organic search engine traffic. These are the search engine results where you don’t have to pay for the rankings, you are selected as top by the search engines based on the quality of your site.

Pay per click advertising is the fastest way to get web traffic by paying for advertisements on search engines, which appear alongside the search engine results. This method allows you to select the keywords you believe people who are likely to buy might be using. Unfortunately you can’t guarantee they will click nor that they will like what they see when they reach your site. This is where you have to monitor conversion. Conversion is the rate at which visitors make the decision or "convert" into customers.

Pay per click systems such as google have a built in system for monitoring conversion, they aren’t perfect of course as they may not fit exactly into your site design but they do make it a lot easier. By giving you an indication as to whether the campaign you are running is resulting in sales you can decide whether to increase the budget or change your advertising to something which might work better.

Obviously the more money you are willing to pay the more people you can get to visit your site since you have to pay for every click someone makes. Bear in mind however if you don’t set a budget you could soon end up with a bill much higher than the cost of a professional web site optimisation service.

Unfortunately there is no best way to get traffic to your site. however, search engine bots will crawl your site once it has been found and look for good quality unique content more than anything else. You may think this means nothing if you are intending to run a pay per click campaign, but you would be wrong. The cost of a click is dependant upon the relevance and content of your site based, for example; in the case of google adwords, on the quality score.

Search engines are designed to always provide the best results for their users, in this way their users are more likely to come back and use their service again. I hope this answers the question posed initially for you, if it doesn’t I shall now make it clear.

Your website content is important and should not be skimped upon, always offer value and people will come back time and again.

Where did social network marketing come from?

Where did social network marketing come from, and why is it here?  With the rise and rise of Web 2.0, socail network marketingthe increasing digitization of young people’s lifestyles and the sheer availability of information at any given point, director of insight at Viacom Brand Solutions had some truth in saying that ‘the dynamic has changed’.

Most people have access to 200+ individuals on their social network – ‘place something onto a social network site and it can be picked up around the world in seconds’, says Head of Communications at the British Heart Foundation, David Barker.  Given the increasing digital shift,  ‘enormous changes had to be made to our marketing as a result’, adds Barker.  Indeed, results exceeded expectations – with these being even further beneficial given the relatively highly affordability of social network marketing when considering the alternatives.  For instance, where Barker expected 100,000 members to sign up to the company’s Yoobot initiative, over 1m joined.

social network marketingThe dynamic has indeed changed – consumers now, contrary to the days of old, want control, levering unprecedented demands on brands.  And brands best be prepared to meet them, or at least be well acquainted with the consumer-brand promiscuity popular among the ‘me’ youth of today.  For instance, according to Alan Duncan, marketing director of Sony, such shameless capriciousness and ‘battering down the doors’ of business from the outside has ‘forced us to be much more open; now a consistent dialogue with consumers is expected’.  In an increasing age of ever-changing developments in socio-market structure, bold new consumers best be targeted with specific methods such as social network marketing to ensure that brands do not get left behind.
