London Based Moonfruit Giveaway Using Twitter Hash Tags
An interesting phenomenon is happening on Twitter at the moment. Companies are realising that they can use Twitter to promote their company. London based Moonfruit is one such 
company taking advantage of the ubiquitous nature of twitter to run a promotion.
The intention appears to get as many people to post the moonfruit hash tag to promote their London based company using the hash tag tool which many of the experienced twitter users are already utilising. The promotion involves them giving away 10 Macbook Pro’s. One for every year that the moonfruit company has been trading.
Now there are of course pro’s and con’s to the strategy moonfruit which moonfruit have copied from a company who used it previously. However to me it will certainly give them exposure even if users attempt to hide the promotion in a sneaky post. I myself wondered why anyone would want to use such an obscure hash tag since they are there to assist with the searching process on Twitter.
I then carried out a search to find out more and lo and behold I found moonfruit a London based company and their giveaway using twitter hash tags. It isn’t something which would work for every company of course but for savy online marketers who watch what is going on in Twitter and across the web, like myself, then they are targeting their audience in quite a unique way and it worked, I have signed up for a free trial of their site builder.

I’m not saying I will pay for it after the trial of course but if its worth it I will consider it and they have a sale. If not well it has only cost them 10 laptops which I’m sure they have already written off as a tax loss. Either way I will know who they are the name next time I see their name online.
